The Ravens (3-2) lost to Cincinnati 14-17 at home in Week 5 and now sit second in the AFC North. QB Joe Flacco made 22 of 31 passes for 186 yards with one TD pass and two interceptions; overall he’s thrown for 1,289 yards with nine TD passes and five interceptions. Their top RB Ray Rice had 14 carries for 69 yards and he was top receiver with seven catches for 74 yards with a TD. The Ravens had too many penalties; they had 10 for 76 yards. Over its two-game losing skid, Baltimore has been called for 19 penalties, resulting in 161 penalty yards. The Ravens led the league with 37 rushing attempts per game last season. This year they have averaged 10 carries less per game. Joe Flacco's emergence is a big reason why, but the byproduct of a more pass-heavy attack has been a decline in time of possession from 33 minutes last year to 30 this year. That appears to have adversely affected a defense that has struggled down the stretch over the past couple weeks . Their defense currently ranks 10th overall; 26th against the pass and fourth against the rush. Their struggling pass defense will be up against the Vikings 17th ranked pass game. As for their offense, they are fifth overall with a sixth ranked running game and 10th ranked passing game. The Ravens must curb the penalties if they hope to knock off the undefeated Vikings. The Ravens average 27.6ppg and give up 19.4ppg, while they average 26ppg on the road and allow 26.5ppg. They are 3-2 ATS and 3-2 over/under.

The Vikings (5-0) won in St.Louis 38-10 in Week 5 and sit atop the NFC North. QB Bret Favre made 18 of 24 passes for 232 yards with one TD pass and one Interception; overall he’s thrown for 1,069 yards with nine TD passes and two interceptions. Their top RB Adrian Peterson had 15 carries for 69 yards with two TD’s, while Chester Taylor also pounded a TD in. Their top WR Percy Harvin made for catches for 66 yards, while TE Visanthe Shiancoe added a TD. Favre has looked more energetic in the past couple of weeks as his offensive line has given him better protection . After getting sacked nine times in the first three games, he has been taken down just twice in the last two weeks. It may get tougher to avoid sacks against a Ravens defense that already has 11 sacks. S Ed Reed has 12 return touchdowns, which is tied for the most among active players. QB Joe Flacco is 6-2 in his last eight road starts, and has completed 63.4 percent of his passes for 1,712 yards with 13 touchdowns vs. just four interceptions. The Vikings average 31.2ppg and give up 18ppg, while averaging 28.5ppg at home and allow 23.5ppg. They are 4-1 ATS and 4-1 over/under.
