NFL Week 6 Picks

NFL Week 6 Picks: The sixth week of NFL action is just around the corner and it should go a long way toward separating the contenders from the pretenders. Two teams that certainly look the part of contenders, Atlanta and Philadelphia, will square off in the City of Brotherly Love in an attempt to get an edge in tightly contested division races. Arguably the league's top team through the first five weeks of action, the New York Jets, will face a desperate Denver squad in the Mile High City as the Broncos look to stay in AFC contention. Check out the latest NFL Week 6 Picks at Sportsbook.com for odds on these big games as well as the full NFL schedule.

Atlanta Falcons vs Philadelphia Eagles (-3): Atlanta has not won its games in the prettiest fashion, but it has won them NFL Week 6 Picksnonetheless, going 4-1 through its first five games. The Falcons efforts on the gridiron have made them, perhaps, the class of the NFC in the season's early going. A win over the Eagles in Philadelphia would give Mike Smith's squad a 3-1 road record and critical win over a potential playoff competitor. Philly suffered an ugly home loss to the Redskins two weeks ago, but it rebounded with a nice 27-24 win at San Francisco last Sunday night. If the Eagles can clip the Falcons, they would keep pace with or possibly pass Washington and New York in the NFC East standings. It may be imperative that they do so with games against the Titans, Colts, Redskins, Giants, and Bears on the horizon.

New York Jets vs Denver Broncos (+3): The Denver Broncos have proven they can throw the ball on anyone and one would suspect they will be able to do the same against the Jets vaunted defense. Kyle Orton threw for 314 yards and two touchdowns against the league's second rated pass defense (Baltimore) last weekend; however, the aerial assault did not garner the team a much needed victory. Sitting at 2-3, the Broncos need an upset of the Jets to keep their division title hopes alive. New York will be playing its third road game in the past four weeks this Sunday in Denver, but, thus far, the Jets have enjoyed their time away from home, beating AFC East rivals Miami and Buffalo by a combined score of 69-37. No disrespect to the Dolphins or Bills, but the Broncos will present Rex Ryan's troops with their most difficult road challenge to date.
