Josh Freeman and company trailed 14-21 in the fourth quarter, but the defense picked off the error prone Carson Palmer twice in the game's final minutes to secure the win.
The stunning comeback improved Tampa Bay's record to 3-1 on the season and left them just a half game behind the division leading Atlanta Falcons in the NFC South.
The Bucs, which are 1-1 at home, have won three of their last five against the Saints at Raymond James Stadium. However, New Orleans took care of business last season at Tampa, beating their rival 38-7.
