Denver (1-4, 0-2 V) was on their bye week in Week 6. In Week 5 they lost to San Diego 24-29, at home. QB Tim Tebow threw two touchdown passes after replacing starter Kyle Orton to start the third quarter and had one final shot for the win before his pass fell incomplete in the end zone on the final play. Orton was awful in the first half. He completed 6 of 13 passes for 34 yards with no touchdowns and an interception. RB Willis McGahee had 16 carries for 125 yards, while RB Knowshon Moreno made three catches for 40 yards with a touchdown. Tim Tebow will get the start against the Fins Sunday, but the Broncos aren't going to go on a seven-game winning streak just because he is playing quarterback. However, the team will rally around him in this game and they have enough playmakers to contain the Dolphins. This game will not be easy on the eyes, by any means. The Broncos are still a mess, and they just traded their best receiver to the St. Louis Rams. Their running game ranks 22nd in the NFL and their defense ranks 31st in points allowed. Tebow can scramble and the Fins are awful at home.
Miami (0-5, 0-2 H) lost to the NY Jets 6-24, on the road, in Week 6. QB Matt Moore, starting for the injured Chad Henne who's out for the season after shoulder surgery, was 16 of 34 for 204 yards and two interceptions. Marshall had six catches for 109 yards, but was kept out of the end zone. Reggie Bush, who left in the third quarter with his right arm hanging at his side, it was announced as a neck injury, had 71 yards rushing and two catches for 7 yards. The Dolphins are not exactly lighting the world on fire. They rank 30th in points scored, 26th in total defense and 27th in points allowed. The few times Miami threatened, it bogged down deep in Jets territory, winding up with field goals of 23 and 21 yards by Dan Carpenter. Coach Tony Sparano, whose seat gets hotter by the week, said the Dolphins emphasized not allowing game-changing plays during practices in their bye week. Then they got on the Meadowlands field and not only couldn’t find the end zone, but yielded those exact plays. They’ll have a harder time against Tebow, than Orton. Get $50 in Free NFL Picks here.
