Houston (3-3, 1-2 V) lost to Baltimore 14-29, on the road, in Week 6. QB Matt Schaub went 21 for 37 for 220 yards for the Texans, while standout RB Arian Foster was held to 49 yards on 15 attempts. Even though the Texans (3-3) were without wide receiver Andre Johnson and linebacker Mario Williams, they led briefly in the third quarter. But Baltimore was too tough down the stretch. The Texans are relieved to find out Monday they'll be playing with Matt Schaub at quarterback. Schaub, who underwent an MRI for a sore hip and bruised chest, won't miss any playing time. He has passed for 1,597 yards (seventh in the NFL) and 10 touchdowns (seventh), while compiling a 90.7 passer rating (11th). Schaub was sacked four times by the Ravens and was knocked down seven times. Schaub might be protected if the Texans were running more effectively. The Raiders and Ravens have contained their running game, specifically Arian Foster. The Texans averaged 3.2 yards per carry in the past two games. "We've got to run the ball better for our team to be successful. My challenge is for us to get better." Foster said he was "terrible" against the Ravens, didn't bring his "A" game and wouldn't let it happen again. "Hopefully, you've got players that feel that way," Kubiak said. "Players are smart. They know what it takes to win. You've got to be honest with yourself sometimes in knowing you're not doing something right."
Tennessee (3-2, 2-0 H) was on their bye week in Week 6. In Week 5 they lost to Pittsburgh 17-38, on the road. QB Matt Hasselbeck threw for 262 mostly inconsequential yards, while RB Chris Johnson was held to 51 yards on 14 carries. Hasselbeck was sacked three times. A stout defense and exemplary quarterback play contributed heavily to Tennessee’s successful start under first-year head coach Mike Munchak. The defense did not allow more than 16 points in any game until the trip to Pittsburgh, and the unit currently ranks sixth in the NFL in points allowed (18.8 per game) and eighth in total yards allowed per contest (325.3). Meanwhile, quarterback Matt Hasselbeck has enjoyed one of the best starts of his 13-year career. His total of 1,414 passing yards represents a career high through the first five games of a season, and his nine touchdown passes ties his 2006 career high through five games. Hasselbeck ranks sixth in the NFL and second in the AFC behind only Tom Brady with a passer rating of 95.9. Get $50 in Free NFL Picks here.
