The NY Jets will try to avoid losing four straight when they head to Oakland to play the Raiders, Sunday Oct 25. The Jets have yet to win on the road while the Raiders try for back to back wins. NFL oddsmakers at BetUS.com have the Jets as -6 point road favs over the Raiders with the over/under set at 34.5 points . Be sure to get your New York Jets vs Oakland Raiders NFL Week 7 Predictions in now at BetUS.com The Jets (3-3) lost to Buffalo 13-16 at home in Week 6 and now sit second in the AFC East. QB Mark Sanchez made 10 of 29 passes for 119 yards with five interceptions; overall he’s thrown for 1,035 yards with five TD passes and 10 interceptions. RB Thomas Jones had 22 carries for 210 yards with a TD, while RB Leon Washington had 15 carries for 99 yards and he made three catches for 46 yards. The Jets will look to abuse the Raiders 16th ranked pass defense, but with a shaky QB Sanchez having thrown five interceptions last game they will more likely use their second ranked running game against the Raiders 28th rush defense. On a bad note, the West Coast is where the Jets lost more than half their games last season . They went 0-4, losing in San Diego, Oakland, San Francisco and Seattle. They might not have to worry about the Raiders passing game considering the Jets eighth ranked pass defense, but if the Raiders O-line protects their QB, you never know! The Jets average 19ppg and give up 17.3ppg, while they average 20.3ppg on the road and allow 20.7ppg. They are 3-3 ATS and 2-4 over/under. WR Jericho Cotchery is listed as questionable as well as CB Donald Strickland. The Raiders (2-4) beat Philadelphia 13-9 at home in Week 6 and still sit third in the AFC West. QB JaMarcus Russell made 17 of 28 passes for 224 yards with a TD pass and two interceptions; overall he’s thrown for 830 yards with two TD passes and six interceptions. RB Justin Fargas had 23 carries for 87 yards, while WR Zach Miller made six catches for 139 yards with a TD. This was the best offensive showing by the Raiders through six games. They were the more physical team against the Eagles, dominating the line of scrimmage for much of the game by using a surprisingly high number of blitzes on defense and protecting JaMarcus Russell well on offense. They had six sacks of Donovan McNabb, didn't allow a touchdown for the first time in three years, and controlled the clock with the running game to pull off the win. "We have a long way to go offensively to get where we want to be," Coach Tom Cable said. "Yesterday, we hung in there and battled the right way. We blocked a little bit better. We did throw some balls off target and all that but we made a couple of plays, we made one big play, we were able to use the backs throwing the football a little bit yesterday. It's all a concern, really. We have a long way to go. We have to get better." The Raiders average 10.3ppg and give up 23.2ppg, while averaging 12ppg at home and allow 18.7ppg. They are 3-3 ATS and 2-4 over/under. Recent Trends to Consider:
