Kansas City Chiefs vs Oakland Raiders Spreads NFL Week 7 Kansas City (2-3, 1-2 V) was on their bye week in Week 6. In Week 5 they got a 28-24, road win, over the winless Indianapolis Colts. QB Matt Cassel threw for 257 yards and four touchdowns, while WR Dwayne Bowe and WR Steve Breaston each caught two TD passes to give the Chiefs their first win at Indianapolis. The 17-point comeback matched the biggest comeback in team history. The Chiefs are planning to see Palmer, a two-time Pro Bowler, as well as veteran backup Kyle Boller in Sunday’s game in Oakland. “We’ve just got to plan on either guy,” Chiefs coach Todd Haley said. “Carson has a long track record in the NFL. We played against him a couple years ago in Cincinnati. For the Chiefs, the difference between Palmer and Boller is dramatic. Palmer was the first player taken in the 2003 draft and for a couple of seasons was one of the league’s top quarterbacks. He threw for 60 touchdowns and almost 8,000 yards for Cincinnati in 2005 and 2006. But Palmer hasn’t been as dynamic a player since then. Boller is a former starter for Baltimore and St. Louis, though not as accomplished as Palmer. His advantage is that he played for the Raiders last season, went to camp with them this year and played in last week’s win over Cleveland after starting Jason Campbell was knocked out of the game. Haley was vague about what the Chiefs have planned if they see Palmer and how it might differ if they play against Boller. “You have to take a lot of things into account.” Haley said. “First and foremost, we’ve got to stop one of the best running attacks in the league and one of the best backs in the league (Darren McFadden). If we don’t do that, it will be a long day for us and it won’t matter who’s playing quarterback.”

Oakland (4-2, 2-1 H) got a 24-17, home win, over the Cleveland Browns, in Week 6, in the first home game since the death of longtime owner Al Davis. QB Jason Campbell was knocked out late in the first half when he landed hard on his shoulder after being hit at the end of a scramble. Backup QB Kyle Boller entered in relief and struggled at times, but the Raiders got enough big plays on special teams to hold off the Browns. The Raiders made a mad dash at former Bengals QB Carson Palmer this week, wresting him free of the Cincinnati Bengals and paying a desperate price to do it. They appear to be hustling Palmer straight into the lineup — there are reports that Palmer will start against Kansas City on Sunday. There's a school of thought that with a running game led by Darren McFadden — whom Palmer said he was "very excited to play with" — and receivers who are not cut out of the selfish Chad Ochocino mode, Palmer can put his dismal recent numbers behind him. He said he's not motivated to prove his critics wrong but to prove what he can do. Get $50 in Free NFL Picks here.
