The offense, which has been one of the best in football over the past few seasons, ranks near the bottom of the league in yards (240) and points (17.6) per game, and has been ineffective with both Derek Anderson and rookie Max Hall under center.
The defense has been just a pathetic, if not more so, ranking 28th in yards per game allowed (382) and 29th in points per game allowed (27.6).
Yet, somehow, this team has three wins on the season. Everyone knows Ken Whisenhunt is a good coach, but no one knew he was a magician.
The magic will probably end today, though, as the Seahawks appear to have something supernatural of their own going on, especially at Qwest Field. The team is 2-0 on its home field, scoring underdog wins over both the Forty-Niners and Chargers.
And, while the Seahawks have been unimpressive in many ways, they can play a little defense, particularly against the run. Seattle presently ranks second in the league in rush yards per game allowed (70.4) and they are giving up a meager 2.9 yards per carry.
Those numbers are not a good sign for a Cardinals team that now needs the run to set up the pass. If Beanie Wells and Tim Hightower are unable to get things rolling against the Seahawks front seven, expect Hall to have a long day in front of Qwest Field's frenzied crowd.
