2011 NFL Games Week 8: We have now reached the unofficial midway point of the 2011 NFL season and thus far, a lot is still very much up for grabs. Going into Week 8, our current AFC division leaders are: (4-1) Baltimore Ravens (North), (3-2) Tennessee Titans (South), (5-1) New England Patriots (East) and the (4-2) San Diego Chargers continue to hold on (in the West).
In the National Football Conference, the division leaders go as follow: Green Bay Packers (North), (4-2) Tampa Bay Buccaneers and (4-2) New Orleans Saints are knotted up in the South, New York Giants (East) and the San Francisco 49ers (West). The division leaders not seeing action in Week 8 because of a bye are the defending champs, as they join the Falcons, Bears, Jets and Raiders.
Now let’s take a look at the earliest opening lines for 2011 NFL Games Week 8. Beginning with division leaders, the NY Giants [-9½] will be in Sunny South Florida this week, as they visit the winless, NFL Odds underdog Miami Dolphins [+9½]. This game is scheduled to kickoff Sunday afternoon at 1 PM.
After taking advantage of a bye week to enjoy some live college football action, Bill Belichick and his team is sure to be tested in Week 8. The AFC East leading Patriots [-2½] will visit Heinz Field this week to take on the (4-2) Pittsburgh Steelers [+2½]. That great matchup is scheduled to get under way Sunday afternoon at 4:15 PM ET.
Another division leader in action this week will be Jim Harbaugh’s Niners. After a controversial two weeks, Harbaugh returns to action and will likely try a different handshake after the 49ers [-9] hosts the NFL Odds underdog (2-3) Cleveland Browns [+9] next Sunday afternoon at Candlestick Park.
