NFL Week 8 Predictions: The seventh week of the 2011 NFL season is in the books with some big headlines. NFL Week 8 PredictionsNew England Patriots (5-1, 2-1 V) vs Pittsburgh Steelers (5-2, 3-0 H) NFL Week 8 Predictions – The Patriots were on their bye week in Week 7. In Week 6 they beat the Dallas Cowboys 20-16, at home. QB Tom Brady finished the game 27 of 41 for 289 yards with two touchdowns. WR Wes Welker, who entered the game as the NFL leader with 45 catches and 740 yards receiving, was held to six for 45, but three of those catches, covered 21 yards. Patriots coach Bill Belichick and Brady have won 116 regular-season games together, tying Miami's Don Shula and Dan Marino for most in NFL history. Brady has thrown for 2,163 yards with 16 touchdowns and eight interceptions.

The Steelers handed the Arizona Cardinals their fifth consecutive loss, 32-20 at home, in Week 7. QB Ben Roethlisberger went 25-of-38 passing for 340 yards with three touchdowns. WR Mike Wallace made three catches for 118 yards with one touchdown. The Steelers rolled for 445 yards in a successful warmup to next Sunday's home showdown against New England. Ben Roethlisberger has thrown for 1,937 yards with 12 touchdowns and six interceptions.

The Patriots 1st ranked offense (474ypg) goes up against the Steelers 2nd ranked defense (279ypg). Their 1st ranked pass game (350ypg) goes up against the Steelers 1st ranked pass defense (171ypg). The Patriots 10th ranked running game (124ypg) goes up against the Steelers 11th ranked rush defense (107ypg). The Steelers ninth ranked offense (383ypg) goes up against the Patriots 32nd ranked defense (423ypg). Dallas Cowboys (3-3, 1-2 V) vs Philadelphia Eagles (2-4, 0-2 H) NFL Week 8 Predictions – The Cowboys got a 34-7 home victory over the ailing St. Louis Rams, in Week 7.  QB Tony Romo was 14 of 24 for 166 yards, with two touchdowns. He didn't have to throw much because the running game was doing so well. Rookie RB DeMarco Murray ran through a shoddy St. Louis Rams defense for 253 yards, including an early 91-yard touchdown that got the Cowboys started. Murray ran for the most yards in the NFL this season and the ninth-most in league history. His touchdown was the second-longest run in team history. He also had the most yards ever against the Rams, replacing Jim Brown on that list.Romo has thrown for 1,756 yards with 10 touchdowns and six interceptions.

The Eagles were on their bye week in Week 7. In Week 6 they got a 20-13 road victory over the Washington Redskins. QB Michael Vick threw for 237 yards and one touchdown, while RB LeSean McCoy rushed for 126 yards and one touchdown. CB Kurt Coleman had three interceptions. McCoy is the first Eagles player to score a TD in six consecutive games and is also the first in franchise history to do it in six straight at the start of a season. The Eagles, 30th in run defense entering the game, allowed just 42 yards rushing.Vick has thrown for 1,573 yards with 9 touchdowns and eight interceptions.

The Cowboys sixth ranked offense (415ypg) goes up against the Eagles 13th ranked defense (341ypg). Their fourth ranked pass game (295ypg) goes up against the Eagles 10th ranked pass defense (217ypg). The Cowboys 13th ranked running game (119ypg) goes up against the Eagles 23rd ranked rush defense (123ypg). The Eagles third ranked offense (441ypg) goes up against the Cowboys sixth ranked defense (300ypg). Their eighth ranked pass offense (271ypg) goes up against the Cowboys 14th ranked pass defense (230ypg). The Eagles first ranked ground game (170ypg) goes up against the Cowboys first ranked rush defense (69ypg). The Cowboys allow the 10th least amount of points per-game (21.3) and they score the 10th most (24.8).
