The Oakland Raiders will attempt to share that most elusive of prizes today, back to back victories. Last week Oakland made the Jets look like the Raiders in securing their third win of the season. Oakland, after looking like a ship wreck in New Orleans the week before, somehow managed to play a poised game against a well rested New York Jets team. The Raiders pressured Brett Favre into several mistakes and, in the end, it was JaMarcus Russell who provided the late game excitement.
The Raiders did give up almost 420 yards of offense to New York, but three Jet turnovers allowed them to claim a last second 16-13 win.
The Baltimore Ravens will also be seeking their second win in a row this afternoon. John Harbaugh's squad earned a 27-13 win against the Dolphins in Miami last week. The Ravens showed a little bit of an offense burst that had been missing in their previous two games. And the Dolphins could not get their ground game working at all, generating just 71 yards against Baltimore's stingy defense.
