NFL Week 9 Predictions

by Matt Foust on Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

The NFL season marches on this weekend after further clarifying who the top and bottom teams are at the halfway point as I begin to research my NFL Week 9 Predictions. Last weekend saw the NFC East get even tighter, the AFC West get even worse, and the Tennessee Titans stay undefeated. NFL Week 9 Predictions should provide soNFL Week 9 Predictionsme great entertainment as well.

With the weekend's games just a few days away, there are more than a few contests that deserve keeping an eye on. Here are some of the top NFL Week 9 Predictions at SBGglobal.com:

Arizona Cardinals @ St. Louis Rams (-3, O/U 48):
While this may not seem like a juggernaut match-up, it is a huge game for the Cardinals. Arizona sits at 4-3, but they could practically wrap up an NFC West title with a win over the Rams. They are two games up on the Seahawks, who have a tough game this weekend with the Eagles, and they would be three up on St. Louis with eight games left should they defeat them this Sunday. A Rams victory, however, would give them their third win in four games and put them in the mix in the West.

Dallas Cowboys @ New York Giants (-9, O/U 41):
The Giants can all but dash the Cowboys hopes of repeating as NFC East champ with a win this weekend. New York, it would seem, is catching Dallas at a great time with quarterback Tony Romo still out with a broken pinkie. The Cowboys have also been less than impressive in their last several games, particularly on the road. The Giants will also be playing in front of the home crowd for the first time in three weeks.

New England Patriots @ Indianapolis Colts (-5.5, O/U 44):
Prior to the season, this match-up looked like it would be another 'game of the year'. Well, things have changed as neither the Patriots nor the Colts look anything like they have the past several seasons. Still, this is a marquee game with some of the biggest names in the NFL on display, and it will also have huge playoff implications for the Colts. Indianapolis is, at best, looking at a wildcard spot and they may be battling New England for a chance at post-season play.

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Washington Redskins (-1.5, O/U 37):
This Monday night showdown should feature a ton of defense, and it will give the Steelers another opportunity to see how they stack up against the NFC's best. Last weekend Pittsburgh could not get the job done against the Giants at home and earlier in the year they fell to the Eagles in Philadelphia.
