Cincinnati (4-2, 2-1 V) was on their bye week in Week 7. In Week 6 they got a 27-17, home victory that kept the Indianapolis Colts winless. Rookie QB Andy Dalton put together an impressive performance against the Colts' hard-charging defense. Seattle (2-4, 1-1 H) lost to the Cleveland Browns 3-6, at home, in Week 7. The Seahawks managed 137 yards of offense and had the ball for only 17:04. QB Charlie Whitehurst, filling in for Tavaris Jackson, completed 12 of 30 passes for 97 yards. RB Leon Washington had seven carries for 39 yards, while WR Sidney Rice made two catches for 38 yards.
Charlie Whitehurst may be needed again this week since Pete Carroll could offer no guarantee Jackson will be ready for Sunday's game. "We're just going to start over again this week and see where it is," Carroll said. "We'll just take it one day at a time and see how it goes." Seattle couldn't find any other way into the end zone was a commentary on the offense under Whitehurst. In his three career starts, the Seahawks have scored a total of 26 points. So where do the Seahawks and Whitehurst go from here? "Clearly evaluate what happened," Carroll said of Sunday's game. "Get to the truth of what happened."
