Cleveland (3-3, 1-1 V) got a dull 6-3, home win, over the sloppy Seattle Seahawks, in Week 7. QB . The Browns played without RB Peyton Hillis (hamstring) and lost WR Mohamed Massaquoi and TE Benjamin Watson to concussions. RB Montario Hardesty started for Hillis and had 33 carries for 95 yards. He also caught two passes and didn't drop a pass, a problem for him the past two weeks. Phil Dawson converted two field goals over 50 yards.

Head coach Pat Shurmur is still hopeful that Hillis will play on Sunday against the Niners, as the team will most certainly need his services. Whatever you may be thinking about the emergence of Montario Hardesty, there is no doubt that a part of the reason for the Browns’ offensive struggles can be attributed to Hillis’ inability to stay on the field. When you take away the biggest offensive weapon on a team that had barely any to begin with, it’s not surprising to see that team struggle. As it stands now, the San Francisco 49ers rank second in the NFL in rush defense, giving up only 74.7 yards per game. The Browns' special-teams play, a strength in recent seasons, has been a major weakness recently. The kickoff coverage faltered in the Week Six loss at Oakland, surrendering a 101-yard return to the Raiders' Jacoby Ford. The following week, a punt-return score by the Seahawks' Leon Washington was nullified by a penalty. The Browns have also have had far too many misadventures on field goals. Seahawks DE Red Bryant blocked a pair of kicks in Week Seven, splitting through the line both times. Also, the Browns gave up a touchdown on a Raiders fake field goa

San Francisco (5-1, 2-1 H) was on their bye week in Week 7. In Week 6 they got a 25-19, road win, over the previously unbeaten Detroit Lions. QB Alex Smith was 17 of 32 for 125 yards, going early and often to WR Michael Crabtree, who matched a career high with nine receptions for 77 yards. RB Frank Gore ran 15 times for 141 yards, including a season-long 55-yard gain, and scored a TD.

Braylon Edwards returned to practice at full speed and was a full participant. It now looks like Edwards will in fact return to action vs. his former team the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. Expect Edwards to have a similar role to the one Michael Crabtree played the first couple weeks after his injury. Crabtree did not start but played a healthy amount of snaps before returning to full time duty after returning to game speed. Edwards has missed the last 4 games following surgery to repair torn cartilage in his right knee. The Browns allowed five sacks vs. Seattle on Sunday and have surrendered 14 in six games. Cleveland really struggled vs. Seattle's blitzes, something San Francisco surely noticed. Get $50 in Free NFL Picks here.
