The winless Tennessee Titans play host to the Jacksonville Jaguars, Sunday Nov 1, as the Titans test the waters with back-up QB Vince Young. Jacksonville has won three of the past four meetings. NFL oddsmakers at BetUS.com have the Titans as -3 point home favs over the Jaguars with the over/under set at 44.5 points . Be sure to get your Jacksonville Jaguars vs Tennessee Titans NFL Week 8 Predictions in now at BetUS.com The Jaguars (3-3) beat St.Louis 23-20 (OT) in Week 6 and sat out last week with a bye. They sit third in the AFC South. QB David Garrard made30 of 43 passes for 335 yards with two interceptions; overall he’s thrown for 1,464 yards with five TD passes and three interceptions for an 83.9 passer rating. RB Maurice Jones-Drew had 33 carries for 133 yards with three TD’S, while WR Mike Sims-Walker made nine catches for 120 yards. The Jaguars win when they are able to run the ball effectively . Since 2006, the team is 16-4 in games that they gain at least 150 yards on the ground. Six different players got carries in Jacksonville's Week 4 win over Tennessee. Expect to see a similar reliance on a diversified ground game this time around. Their offense is ranked 11th overall with a 14th ranked passing game and an 11th ranked running game. As for defense they are 23rd overall with a 31st ranked pass defense and a 13th ranked rush defense. It’s going to be a ground n pound matchup with the Jags testing out their deep threats against the Titans weak pass defense. When QB Garrard throws two or more touchdowns, the Jaguars are 12-4. RB Maurice Jones-Drew has scored 48 touchdowns in 52 career games. The Titans (0-6) got skunked in New England 0-59 in Week 6 and are still dead last in the AFC South. QB Kerry Collins made 2 of 12 passes for -7 yards with an interception. He might, and should, be replaced for QB Vince Young this week. Titans QB Vince Young has an 18-11 record as a starter . RB Chris Johnson had 17 carries for 128 yards, while WR Ahmand Hall had one catch for 15 yards. To say the Titans got no pass offense, or defense, in this game would be an understatement. Despite the Titans' offensive woes this season, RB Johnson has played extremely well. The second-year rusher is averaging 6.3 yards per carry and 7.9 yards per catch. Look for Tennessee to try and get Johnson involved early and often against a Jacksonville rush defense against which he gained 83 yards earlier this year. The Titans overall offense is ranked 22nd with a 26th ranked passing game, but they have the sixth best running game in the league. As for their defense, they are 31st overall with a league worst pass defense, but the ninth best rush defense. Go figure! The only way for Tennessee and Coach Jeff Fisher to escape the barrage of criticism that has come their way this season is to win a game, and what better time to do so than against a division rival that already clobbered you earlier in the year?
