The Jaguars (3-4) lost in KC 20-42, in Week 7, and sit last in the AFC South. Starter QB David Garrard was out because of a concussion and they listed backup Trent Edwards as questionable with a badly sprained thumb on his throwing hand. That left Todd Bouman as the healthiest and most knowledgeable option on the roster. QB Todd Bouman made 18 of 34 passes for 222 yards with two TD’s, but two interceptions. RB Maurice Jones-Drew had 16 carries for 47 yards, and made five catches for 74 yards with a TD. WR Mike Sims-Walker added a TD. Todd Bouman hadn’t thrown a touchdown pass in the regular season since 2005, and hadn’t won as a starter since 2001. It’s a good thing for the Jags that Garrard is expected back this week. Garrard has thrown for 838 yards with nine TD’s, but seven interceptions. The Jags once heavy ground game is nowhere to be found. The Jaguars are ranked 26th overall on offense (300ypg) with a 28th ranked pass game (173ypg) and an 10th ranked ground game (126ypg). TE Marcedes Lewis leads the Jags offense with five TD’s. They have a 30th ranked defense (382ypg), with a 27th ranked pass rush (253ypg) and a 25th ranked rush defense (129ypg). The Jags defense gives up the second most points per-game (29.9).

The Cowboys (1-5) lost to the NY Giants 35-41 ending any chance of a playoff berth. QB Tony Romo made 5 of 7 passes for 39 yards with one TD before leaving the game with a broken collarbone. Backup QB John Kitna made 16 of 33 passes for 187 yards with two TD’s in his first NFL action in two seasons. RB Felix Jones had 9 carries for 35 yards, while TE Jason Witten made nine catches for 95 yards with a TD. WR Dez Bryant made four catches for 54 yards with two TD’s. The Cowboys' season unofficially came to an end with 12:09 remaining in the second-quarter, when Giants linebacker Michael Boley came through untouched — a regular occurrence on this night — and slammed Romo hard to the turf on a legal hit. The X-rays revealed a broken clavicle, likely shelving Romo for 8-10 weeks. His backup, Jon Kitna, was a train wreck running the offense. The Cowboys offensive woes can be attributed to their receiving core. Miles Austin had two crucial drops early on, when the Cowboys could have broken open the game. Jason Witten had a fumble that led to a Giants touchdown and Roy Williams was held without a catch. Dez Bryant is the only legit wideout for the Cowboys, and now without Romo and a backup with no experience, the Cowboys are done. The Cowboys offense is ranked fifth overall (375ypg) with the fourth best ranked pass game (289ypg), but a 30th ranked running game (86ypg). They score the 14th most amount of points per-game (22.8ppg). On defense the Cowboys are ranked 10th overall (317ypg), with a seventh ranked pass rush (200ypg) and a 21st ranked rush defense (117ypg). The Cowboys give up the 27th most amount of points per-game (25.3ppg).
