In the NFC, the Giants continue to lead the East, the Packers remain unbeaten in the North, the Saints are holding on in the South, and the 49ers remain strong in the West. Teams you will not see in action in Week 9 are: (2-6) Carolina Panthers, (6-2) Detroit Lions, (2-6) Jacksonville Jaguars, and (2-6) Minnesota Vikings.
One of the biggest games this week, in terms of the AFC East standings, will take place at Ralph Wilson Stadium. On Sunday afternoon at 1 PM, the New York Jets [+1½] will take on the NFL Point Spreads favorite Buffalo Bills [-1½]. With a win on Sunday over Washington and a Pats loss, Buffalo drew even with Bill Belichick & Co. atop the division standings.
The Bills are currently unbeaten at home (4-0) and against their division (1-0). On the other hand, the Jets come in following a bye week and looking for their first road win of the 2011 season (0-3). Rex Ryan is 1-1 in intradivisional games thus far. There are many great matchups in Week 9, all of which could have a significant impact on the playoff picture.
