The Bears (4-3) (2-1 V) were on a BYE Week, in Week 8, after losing to Washington 14-17, at home, in Week 7. They currently sit second in the NFC North. Against the Redskins, QB Jay Cutler completed 26 of 40 passes for 281 yards with one TD, but a whopping four interceptions. RB Matt Forte had 10 carries for 41 yards, while WR Johnny Knox made six catches for 86 yards with a TD. Their defense managed two sacks and two interceptions, one for a TD. Cutler executed the short passing game well enough, until the second quarter where he imploded. Rip the offensive line all you want, but Cutler now has thrown 33 interceptions and 34 TDs as a Bear. In the 22 games Cutler has played in Chicago, the Bears have lost 12. They need Cutler to find a way to pull it out as do quarterbacks in his pay range and on the NFL plane he aspires to be. Even after he was picked off by Redskins DeAngelo Hall four times, he said, he still would go at Hall "every time." This might be the best time for the Bills sixth ranked pass defense to make Cutler look even worse, than he is. The Bears are ranked 29th overall on offense (290ypg) with a 19th ranked pass game (201ypg) and a 26th ranked running game (88ypg). RB Matt Forte leads their offense with six TD’s. They have sixth best ranked defense overall (305pg), with the fifth best ranked rush defense (89ypg) and a 15th ranked pass rush (216ypg). The Bears defense allows the third least amount of points per-game (16.3).

The Bills (0-7) (0-3 H) lost in KC 10-13, in overtime, in Week 8. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick made 24 of 48 passes for 223 yards with one TD and an interception. RB Fred Jackson had 20 carries for 64 yards, while WR Roscoe Parrish made four for catches for 66 yards. WR Steven Johnson chipped in with a TD. The Bills offensive line didn't help.  Cordaro Howard was abused all day long and looked like the rookie that he is.  Demetrius Bell, Eric Wood and Howard all had false start penalties.  They also did not create any holes for the running game, as Fred Jackson and CJ Spiller were stuffed most of the time.  There were a few times where Jackson broke free for big gains, but that was all on him and his longest run was only 9 yards. For the first time in 6 weeks, the Bills defense did not surrender 30 points.   They did much better than earlier in the year, but they still gave up way too many rushing yards (274 yards).  On the positive side, the defensive line finally got some pressure on the quarterback with 3 sacks, 2 of them courtesy of Kyle Williams. The Bills are ranked 26th overall on offense (299ypg) with a 26th ranked pass game (185ypg) and a 13th ranked ground game (114ypg). They have a 29th ranked defense (384ypg), with a sixth ranked pass rush (195ypg) and the league’s worst ranked rush defense (188ypg). The Bills defense allows the most amount of points per-game (30.1ppg).
