The Colts (5-2) (2-2 V) beat Houston 30-17, at home, in Week 8 and now sit first in the AFC South. QB Peyton Manning made 26 of 45 passes for 268 yards with two TD’s. RB Mike Hart had 12 carries for 84 yards, while Pierre Garcon made seven catches for 78 yards. Jacob Tamme made six catches for 64 yards with a TD and Reggie Wayne added a TD. Peyton Manning, the ultimate pocket passer, and Vick, a unique running and throwing threat, present vastly different styles, but both torment defenses with their unpredictability. Manning does his deception before the snap, adjusting his offense on the fly. His line of scrimmage gyrations are by now familiar to fans and to cornerback Asante Samuel, who has faced Manning eight times. "It's freaking annoying. I freaking hate it. But, you know, that's why it makes him one of the best players ever," said Samuel, a former Patriot familiar with battling the Colts. Samuel and cornerback Ellis Hobbs, another ex-Patriot, said defenders have to ignore Manning's displays and focus on their own plays. Both said the keys to disrupting the quarterback are playing physical with the Colts' receivers and using a mix of coverages. The Colts offense is ranked second best overall (402ypg) with the second best ranked pass game (306ypg) and a 23rd ranked running game (96ypg). They score the third highest amount of points per-game (27.6ppg). Austin Collie leads their offense withsix TD’s. On defense they are ranked 17th overall (336ypg), with a seventh ranked pass rush (203ypg) and a 28th ranked rush defense (133ypg). The Colts give up the 13th least amount of points per-game (20.3ppg).

The Eagles (4-3) (1-2 H) were on a BYE Week, in Week 8 after losing in Tennessee 19-37 in Week 7. The Eagles currently sit second in the NFC East. Against the Titans, QB Kevin Kolb made 26 of 48 passes for 231 yards with one TD and two interceptions. RB LeSean McCoy had 16 carries for 48 yards, while Jason Avant made six catches for 60 yards. WR Riley Cooper added a TD. Their defense got three sacks and pulled down two interceptions. The Eagles will have the dynamic Michael Vick back at quarterback. Andy Reid's defense will depend on one cornerback, Dimitri Patterson, making his first career start and rookie safety Nate Allen, who was victimized by the Titans last week. the Eagles present a challenge in the way they create turnovers. The Birds' 11 interceptions are fourth best in the NFL. Manning, though, has thrown just two picks this year, tied for fewest in the league, against 15 touchdowns, second most. In his previous matchups with the Eagles – in 1999, 2002, and 2006 – he threw seven touchdowns and one interception. The Colts won all three times. The Eagles offense is ranked fifth overall (372ypg) with an ninth ranked pass game (243ypg) and an eighth ranked running game (129ypg). They score the eighth most amount of points per-game (24.6ppg). Jermey Maclin leads their offense with six TD’s. On defense they are ranked 12th overall (315ypg), with an 11th ranked pass rush (206ypg) and a 16th ranked rush defense (108ypg). The Eagles give up the 23rd most amount of points per-game (22.4ppg).
