NFL Spreads Week 9

NFL Spreads Week 9: There’s very little doubt as to which is the biggest game on the NFL Week 9 schedule. It is without question the Sunday night game between the (5-2) Baltimore Ravens [+3½] and the NFL Odds favorite (6-2) Pittsburgh Steelers [-3½]. With just one game separating these teams in the AFC North standings, this is guaranteed to be an all-out war, especially for the hosting Steelers.

After manhandling the New England Patriots, making them look soft and finesse, Pittsburgh is ready to avenge an embarrassing loss to Baltimore in Week 1. Humiliated in a game that was supposed to be highly competitive, Ben Roethlisberger & Co. fell victims to Ray Lewis and the Ravens defense, 35-7.

"They are slaying people and we are a part of that," said Mike Tomlin of the Ravens defense. "They are playing extremely fast, they are really talented, they know what they are doing and they are very rarely out of place. They have uniquely talented people at every level of their defense."

For the surging 2008 Super Bowl champs, five wins in a row don’t have as good a ring as a Ravens beat down does. The key for the Steelers offensively will be Big Ben’s ability to stay out of trouble. Roethlisberger threw three interceptions and fumbled the ball two times in Week 1.

“We can be as good as we want to be,” he said. “When we don't kill ourselves and stop ourselves, we can be pretty dangerous.”
