2011 NFL Picks Week 9: In Week 9 of the 2011 NFL season, AFC West teams will be looking to create some much needed distance. Going into Sunday’s 13-game schedule, three teams find themselves tied atop the West division and they will all be in action. Tied for first at place at 4-3 is the San Diego Chargers, Oakland Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs.
Which team will blink first? Well, that will pretty much depend on who they’re matched up against in Week 9. I will be giving you my predictions for all three games and who will rule the AFC West entering Week 10. Get $50 in Free NFL Picks here!
By far, the team with the toughest matchup this Sunday will be the (4-3) San Diego Chargers [+7], as they welcome the defending Super Bowl champion, (7-0) Green Bay Packers [-7] to Qualcomm Stadium. This game kicks off at 4 PM ET on CBS Sports. The OVER/UNDER between the Bolts and cheese heads is set at a combined total of 51 points.
At first glace, picking this game seems like a no-brainer, especially considering the Chargers’ performance last Monday night versus the Chiefs. However, I also say that most dangerous teams sometimes are those whose backs are against the wall. This is obviously the case of the Chargers, who find themselves on the brink of becoming the third best team in the division for the first time in a long time.
Now, by no means do I think the Bolts have enough weapons to hand the Packers their first loss of the season. What I am saying is that this game will be a lot more competitive than people anticipate. Furthermore, the fact that the Packers are due to have a bad game also concerns me. I actually would take the Chargers with a NFL Point Spreads cushion of a touchdown and a point after.
Here are the rest of my 2011 NFL Picks Week 9 for the AFC West:
(4-3) Denver Broncos [+7½] vs (4-3) Oakland Raiders [-7½]: No Darren McFadden no bog win for Oaktown. I obviously like the Raiders in this one, especially with Carson Palmer having some extra time to prepare. Having that said, I’m actually one of those crazy people that think Tim Tebow will eventually start getting it.
I believe No.15 does enough to keep this one from becoming a blowout. I like Denver at +7½! I also like the (4-3) Kansas City Chiefs [-4] at home over the (0-7) Miami Dolphins [+7].
