Denver, after getting off to a great start, has returned to earth in quick fashion. The offense, which was on a torrid pace to start the season, has averaged just 15.2 points per game over their last five.
The Broncos drop in offensive production parallels quarterback Jay Cutler's increased propensity for giving the ball away. Cutler threw just two picks during the club's 3-0 start, but has thrown six in the last three games, all losses.
Cleveland, which was expected to contend for the AFC North title this year, sits at just 3-5. The Browns are not only looking up at the Steelers, but they also have the Ravens sitting in front of them as well. The switch to Brady Quinn comes on the heels of another loss to Baltimore, in which the Browns compiled just 274 yards of offense.
Cleveland's problems this season have been a polar opposite to last year's woes. Their offense was one of the most dominant in the league in 2007 while their defense was abysmal. The Browns defense has performed fairly well this year, but their vaunted offense has produced just 17.8 points per game and 266.8 yards per game.
