2011 NFL Predictions Week 9: There are so many great, exciting matchups in Week 9 of the 2011 NFL season! A lot of these games will have huge implications on the standings as well as the overall 2011 NFL Playoff picture. For starters, the Panthers, Lions, Jaguars and Vikings will not see action this week, as they all have byes. for the rest of the league it’s game on!
Our current division leaders, starting in the AFC, are: (5-2) Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots in the AFC East, (6-2) Pittsburgh Steelers in the North, (5-3) Houston Texans lead the South, and finally the three-way tie in the West between (4-3) San Diego Chargers, Oakland Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs.
In the NFC, the best in each division consists of: (5-2) New York Giants (East), (7-0) Green Bay Packers [North], (5-3) New Orleans Saints [South] and (6-1) San Francisco 49ers [West]. Almost every game going on this week could have an impact on these standings. There are seven 1 PM games scheduled in Week 9. One of the games I’m most looking forward to seeing this week is the AFC East battle between the (4-3) New York Jets [+3] and the NFL Point Spreads favorites, Buffalo Bills [-3]. While most people have jumped on the Bills bandwagon, calling them legitimate contenders, I’m not buying just yet. Beating playoff teams on the road is how Rex Ryan has made his bones as a coach of the Jets and thus, I like the Jets to get their first win of the season today at Ralph Wilson.
Following a shocking loss last week, I expect Drew Brees and Sean Payton to have their game faces on this week. I really like the New Orleans Saints [-8] to come out and light up the (4-3) Tampa Bay Buccaneers [+8] at Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
