NFL Picks: Philadelphia Eagles vs Washington Redskins

by Alexander Banks on Thursday, November 8th, 2007

In a week full of NFL Picks the Philadelphia Eagles visit the Washington Redskins in a NFL week 10 matchup that could spell the end for the Eagles. After winning the division for the fifth time in six seasons last year the Philadelphia Eagles now sit in last place with a 3-5 SU and ATS mark. What has really hurt them has been three losses to their divisional opponents all by at least eight points.  Last week was a total embarrassment as they got pasted by the Dallas Cowboys in front of a national TV audience 38-17.  McNabb didn’t help the Eagles cause as he lost a fumble on the first play of the game and threw two interceptions.  The Eagles more than likely are out of the playoff picture as they still have road games left against the unbeaten New England Patriots, New Orleans Saints and Cowboys.   BoDog.com as the Eagles listed as 3 point underdogs. The Washington Redskins come into this game after a come from behind overtime win over the lowly Jets.  The win put the Redskins at 5-3 SU but only 2-4 ATS.  This is only the second time that the Redskins have had a winning record at the half way point in the season since coach Joe Gibbs returned to the sidelines.  They made the playoffs that season.  BodogLife.com has the Eagles as the 3 point dog in this NFL matchup.

In their first meeting this season the beat the Eagles in a 20-12 at Philadelphia in a Monday night game.  It was the Washington defense who was responsible for the win as they held Philadelphia without a touchdown and sacked Donovan McNabb three times. McNabb completed 28-of-46 passes for 240 yards while Brian Westbrook had 162 total yards of offense.  QB Jason Campbell pitched in throwing for 209 yards and a touchdown. The Redskins have had problems on offense as they have scored just two offensive touchdowns in the last two games and only 14 on the season.

If there is any ray of hope for the eagle faithful it is that the win by the Redskins in the first game was just their second divisional SU & ATS win  the L2 seasons. However, the favorite in this series has won both SU & ATS the last four time. For those of you who like to play the totals the UNDER is a profitable 11 -3 in games played at Fedex field.
