NFL Picks Week 10: Atlanta Falcons at Carolina Panthers PDF Print E-mail

The Carolina Panthers host the Atlanta Falcons in NFL Week 10 action as just one of a number of interesting NFL picks. The Panthers are in the midst of a two game losing streak and at 4-4 SU on the season are still surprisingly in the hunt in the NFC South Division.  However, the Panthers have major problems at QB since the injury to starter Jake Delhome trying both David Carr and ancient Vinny Testaverde.  Neither has been effective and both are hobbled with injuries as Carr went out with a concussion in last weeks 20-7 loss to Tennessee while Testaverde has a bad Achilles tendon. As a result their best receiver, Steve Smith has only five receptions for 33 yards in his last two games. If neither QB can go the Panthers might will be forced to go with rookie Matt Morre.  BetUs.com has installed Carolina as a -4 point favorite.

They haven’t had much help from their running game to keep the heat off their QB’s as DeShaun Foster has only one 100 yard rushing game this season.  Fortunately for the Panthers that came versus Atlanta earlier in the year when they beat the Falcons 27-20 .

After the Michael Vick debacle, the Falcons have done nothing but struggled this season.  Last week the Falcons were able to snap a three-game losing streak when they beat the San Francisco 49eren 29-16.  RB Warrick Dunn rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown on 27 carries. It was his first 100-yard game this season. QB Joey Harrington completed 14-of-25 passes for 138 yards and an interception.

Carolina has yet to win at home as they are 0-4 SU.  It’s not surprising as the Panthers are 2-13-1 ATS in their L16 at home overall. For those that enjoy playing totals the under is 10-2 ATS the L12 meetings between these two clubs.
