The defending NFC Champion Chicago Bears visit the Oakland Raiders in a NFL week 10 matchup which is between two NFL picks non-playoff contenders. While most experts picked the Bears to repeat they have been nothing but a big disappointment as they stand just 3-5 SU only 2-6 ATS. One can’t really point to anyone problem with the Bears as both sides of the ball have been miserable this year. Their once tough defense has already allowed three separate teams to score over 34 points while their offense hasn’t figured out who to put in the QB spot. They opened the season with Rex Grossman but he got replaced in game three of the season by Brian Griese. He hasn’t been the answer either and is coming off a four interception game against the Detroit Lions and lost 16-7. The Bears thought they had a solid RB in their #4 pick, Cedric Benson but he has produced a league low 3.1 yards per carry. Wagerweb.com has Chicago listed as a -3 point favorite. . The Raiders come in with troubles of their own and have lost four games in row to put them at 2-6 SU and 3-5 ATS. They have also had a horrible time putting points on the board scoring an anemic total of 50 points In their last four losses combined. Last week marked the return of QB Josh McCown but he did nothing spectacular going 13-of-28 for 158 yards with one TD and three interceptions. RB Justin Fargas showed some life as he ran for 104 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries. He replaced LaMont Jordan who has only totaled 97 rushing yards in his last four games.
The Bears hope to get back on track but things don’t bode well for them after a bye week as they are only 1-4 SU & ATS. In addition coach Lovie Smith hasn’t had much success versus the AFC as he is just 4-9-1 ATS vs. the AFC. Something will have to give in this one as the Raiders are a profitable 10-5 ATS as an underdog versus NFC while Chicago is 9-21 ATS vs. teams winning 25% or less of their games.
