Monday Night Football: San Francisco 49ers vs Seattle Seahawks NFL Picks

by Alexander Banks on Sunday, November 11th, 2007

Does anyone want to win the NFL West?  In NFL Week 10 one has to wonder if any NFL picks will be on the right side as the Seattle Seahawks host the San Francisco 49ers in an NFC West contest.  The Seahawks do sit atop the division but it’s not because of stellar play as they are only 4-4 SU.  Last week the Seahawks gave away their game versus the Cleveland Browns 33-30 after blowing a 21-6 lead.  A lot of Seattle’s issues surprisingly revolve around their once potent offense.  RB Shaun Alexander has faltered all season long and last week rushed for an anemic 32 yards on 14 carriers versus the Browns.  As a result, a lot of the offensive production will fall on the shoulders of QB Matt Hasselback.  That might not be a back thing as Hasselback has thrown for over 300 yards in two of his last three games.  Betonline.com has Seattle listed as a -10 point favorite.

The San Francisco 49ers come into this one in the midst of a disappointing season.  Many of the experts had predicted that the 49ers would contend for the divisional title but instead have lost 6 in a row after winning their first two games of the season and sit at only 2-6 SU overall.  As with the Seahawks, it’s been the offense that has had the niners mired in the losing streak.  After scoring 20 points in their first game of the season San Francisco hasn’t scored more than 17 points in any one game since.  QB Alex Smith  RB Gore hasn’t been able to pick up the slack as he has been hobbled with injuries and hasn’t had a 100 yard game this season.

It might be one boring Monday night affair with both offenses struggling to put points on the board.  That notion is supported by the fact that San Francisco is the last ranked offense in terms of yards per game as they amass only 224.  The 49ers haven’t faired well on the road in the underdog role as they are only 6-12 ATS their L18.  However, they have broken above the .500 number going 5-4 ATS if they are listed as a double digit dog.  Michael Alexander has the answer to your betting profits with Guaranteed selections at Alexandersports. has only two touchdown passes this season while being picked off 4 times.
