Houston Texans vs Indianapolis Colts NFL Odds, NFL Predictions & NFL Picks: The Colts and Texans will engage in a big AFC South battle this afternoon in Indianapolis. The two top squads in the division are set to kickoff at 1:00pm ET at Lucas Oil Stadium (CBS). NFL Odds at BetUS.com have Indy listed as a -9 against the spread home favorite.

Texans Breakdown: Houston continued its solid play last week, winning its third straight game by beating the Bills 31-10 in Houston Texans vs Indianapolis Colts NFL Odds, Predictions & PicksBuffalo. The Texans offense rolled over the Bills defense, recording 24 first downs and 439 total yards. Running back Ryan Moats, filling in for the mistake prone Steve Slaton, had a break out game. The five year veteran had 126 yards on the ground and three rushing touchdowns. Quarterback Matt Schaub had a decent yardage total (268), but his day was soured by two interceptions.

The key for Houston, which sits at 5-3 and in second place in the AFC South, this afternoon will be their ability to take advantage of Indy's banged up secondary. The Texans certainly have the weapons to exploit what appears to be a vulnerable group, ranking third in the league with an average of 281.5 pass yards per game. However, they will need to protect Schaub against the Colts pass rush. They have done a good job of keeping their signal caller upright this season, allowing just 13 sacks in eight games.

Colts Breakdown: Were it not for their 7-0 record, Indianapolis might feel little bit cursed. Players on both sides of the ball are dropping like flies, nevertheless, the Colts keep piling up the wins. Although last week their victory did not come with the greatest of ease. Indy just got by the Forty Niners at home by a score of 18-14. They even trailed San Francisco at the break (14-9), but they found a way to get it done in the second half.

Indianapolis should not have a great deal of difficulty throwing the ball against Houston. The Colts pass offense is the best in the league (316.3 yards per game) while the Texans rank 14th in passing yards allowed. Also, Houston has trouble getting to the quarterback (11 sacks on the season), which means Peyton Manning should have plenty of time to throw the ball.

NFL Odds Betting Trend: Houston is 4-9 against the spread and 3-10 straight up over the last five years as a raod dog. The Over is 9-1 in the last 10 games between these two teams at Indianapolis.
