The St. Louis Rams head to New York this weekend for an inter-conference tilt with the New York Jets. The Rams have dropped two games in a row and are now 2-2 since Jim Haslett took over for the fired Scott Linehan. NFL Predictions at Sportsbook.com have the Jets listed as a -9 home favorite.
The Rams scored a couple of improbable wins over the Redskins and Cowboys immediately after Haslett took over and looked to have something going. However, they have since returned to their losing form on the road versus the Patriots and at home against the Cardinals.
St. Louis will need to show a little more on offense to beat the Jets; the Rams have averaged just 15.6 points per game this year and have topped 20 just once.
Despite Brett Favre's erratic performance, the Jets are tied for first place in the AFC East at 5-3. The Jets scored a huge underdog win last Sunday over the Bills in Buffalo, but cannot rest on their laurels against the Rams. It will be critical for the Jets to beat St. Louis with road trips to New England and Tennessee waiting in the wings.
NFL Predictions Trend: The Under is 7-3 in the Rams last 10 games as a road underdog.
