The Lions (1-7) lost at Seattle 20-32 in Week 9. QB Matt Stafford made 22 of 42 passes for 203 yards with two TD passes and five interceptions; overall he’s thrown for . RB Kevin Smith had 13 carries for 67 yards, while TE Brandon Pettigrew made seven catches for 70 yards with a TD. WR Bryant Johnson also added a TD. The Lions led 17-13 at the half but could only muster up a field goal in the fourth quarter. The Lions don’t have much of a chance against the Vikings running game or pass game . Their O-line will abused and QB Stafford will be pounded into the turf by DE Jared Allen. The Lions average 16.6ppg and give up 29.6ppg, while they are 0-4 SU on the road where they average 17.8ppg and allow 37.8ppg. They are 2-6 ATS and 4-4 over/under.

The Vikings (7-1) sat out with a bye week after winning in Green Bay 38-26 in Week 8. The Vikings sit atop the NFC North. Against the Packers, QB Brett Favre made 17 of 28 passes for 244 yards with four TD passes; overall he’s thrown for 1,925 yards with 16 TD passes and three interceptions for a 105.5 passer rating. RB Adrian Peterson had 25 carries for 97 yards with a TD, while WR Percy Harvin made five catches for 84 yards with a TD. WR Bernard Berrian and TE Visanthe Shiancoe each added a TD. The Vikings had six sacks on Packers QB Rodgers. Their 11th ranked offense is going to be all over the Lions 25th ranked defense. Their superb 14th ranked passing game will punish the Lions 31st ranked pass defense and RB Adrian Peterson is going to put up huge numbers against their 17th ranked rush defense.   DE Jared Allen leads his defense with six sacks while LB Chad Greenway has two interceptions with more to come. They have three straight home games against Detroit (1-7), Seattle (3-5) and Chicago (), and none of those teams currently has a winning record. It’s always dangerous in the NFL to find comfort in the schedule, but it’s also difficult to envision a more favorable start to the second half of the season. The Vikings average 30.5ppg and give up 29.6ppg, while they are 3-0 SU at home where they average 30ppg and allow 26ppg. They are 5-3 ATS and 6-2 over/under.
