The Lions (2-6) (0-4 V) lost to the NY Jets 20-23 (OT), at home, in Week 9 and sit fourth in the NFC North. QB Mathew Stafford completed 20 of 36 passes for 240 yards with two TD’s. RB Jahvid Best had 16 carries for 48 yards, while WR Nate Burleson made seven catches for 113 yards with a TD, while Brandon Pettigrew added a 10 yard TD. Their defense held the Jets to make only 1 of 4 in the red zone and caused five fumbles where they recovered one. Shaun Hill is back as Detroit's starting quarterback, and the Lions are moving on yet again without injured Matthew Stafford. Stafford hurt his right shoulder last weekend against the  Jets and will miss at least Sunday's game. Hill has completed 61 percent of his passes this season and led Detroit to a 44-6 win last month over St. Louis. Both of these teams love to throw the ball around, but the Lions have a dominant pass rush and some beasts up front. Buffalo's offensive line will likely be overmatched at times. WR Calvin Johnson has seven touchdown catches in his last five games and Ndamukong Suh leads all rookies with 6.5 sacks. The Lion offense is ranked 18th overall (329ypg) with the NFL’s eighth best ranked pass game (247ypg), but they have the NFL’s second worst ranked running game (81ypg). They score the seventh most points per-game (25.4ppg). WR Calvin Johnson leads the Lions offense with 8 TD’s. The Lions will go up against the Bills 26th ranked defense (371ypg), their sixth ranked pass rush (193ypg) and their league worst ranked rush defense (178ypg). The Bills give up the most points per-game (29.1ppg).

The Bills (0-4) (0-4 H) lost to Chicago 19-22, at home, last weekend sit way down the bottom of the AFC East. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick made 31 of 51 passes for 299 yards with one TD and two interceptions. RB Fred Jackson had 8 carries for 16 yards with a TD and FB Corey McIntyre pounded in a one yard TD. WR Steven Johnson had a huge game after making 11 catches for 145 yards and WR Roscoe Parrish made seven for catches for 60 yards with a TD. The Bills have signed linebacker Mike Balogun and promoted receiver Paul Hubbard from the practice squad to fill their banged-up lineup. The two replace linebacker Andra Davis (shoulder) and receiver Roscoe Parrish (broken wrist), who were placed on injured reserve this week. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick has thrown a touchdown in nine consecutive games and safety Donte Whitner leads the team with 72 tackles. The Bills are ranked 26th overall on offense (304ypg) with a 23rd ranked pass game (198ypg) and a 18th ranked ground game (105ypg). Steve Johnson leads the Bills with six TD’s. The Bills do battle against the Lions 24th ranked defense (359ypg), their 21st ranked pass rush (231ypg) and their 27th ranked rush defense (127ypg). The Lions defense allows the 23rd most amount of points per-game (23.5ppg).
