The Broncos (6-2) lost to Pittsburgh 10-28 at home in Week 9 and sit first in the AFC West. QB Kyle Orton made23 of 38 passes for 221 yards with three interceptions; overall he’s thrown for 1,838 yards with nine TD passes and four interceptions for an 88.2 passer rating. RB Correll Buckhalter had nine carries for 24 yards, while WR Brandon Marshall made 11 catches for 112 yards. The Broncos couldn’t muster up any type of offense against the Steelers defense; Kyle Orton was sacked three times for a loss of 49 yards. RB Correll Buckhalter and WR Brandon Marshall are both listed as probable for Sunday’s tilt. Washington has the best pass defense in the league, but its run defense has been suspect at times. RB Knowshon Moreno has cooled off after a fast start this season, but his ability to break a few long runs could play a major role in helping Denver restore its suddenly shaky offense to the form it showed during a 6-0 start. Moreno has run for 423 yards with two TD’s. OLB Elvis Dumervil is tied for the league lead with 10.5 sacks and he has yet to face a team that has given up as many sacks as the Redskins (28). Dumervil will be up against former Bengal cast-off LT Levi Jones, who’s only played three games with the Redskins. The Broncos defense is currently ranked third best overall with a seventh ranked pass defense and an eighth ranked rush defense. They need to find their offense that had them averaging 22.1ppg, they’ve only averaged 8.5ppg in their last two games. The Broncos have won five of six against NFC opponents . Denver is third in the NFL with 26 sacks. The Broncos average 18.8ppg and give up 15.5ppg, while they are 3-1 SU on the road where they average 19ppg and allow 15.8ppg. They are 6-2 ATS and 1-7 over/under.

The Redskins (2-6) lost at Atlanta 17-31 in Week 9 and still sit dead last in the NFC East. QB Jason Campbell made 15 of 22 passes for 196 yards with one TD pass and an interception; overall he’s thrown for 1,677 yards with nine TD passes and eight interceptions for an 86.5 passer rating. RB Ladell Betts had 15 carries for 70 yards with a TD, while WR Mike Sellers made three catches for 56 yards. TE Todd Yoder added a TD. Penalties hurt the Redskins, they had 10 penalties for 88 yards and they must be more disciplined. QB Jason Campbell is listed as probable for Sunday’s tilt. With Clinton Portis likely out this week due to a concussion it’ll be up to Ladell Betts to move the chains . He performed well in his last stint as a starter during the 2006 season and the Redskins will likely lean heavily on him against a Broncos defense that gave up 173 yards rushing to Pittsburgh. While they continue to struggle on offense they are a force on defense. They are ranked sixth best overall with the league’s best pass defense, but struggle with a 25th ranked rush defense, that’ll be up against the Broncos 18th ranked running game. The Redskins are just 4-12 in their last 16 games.  The Redskins average 14.1ppg and give up 19.2ppg, while they are 2-2 SU at home where they average 12ppg and allow 15.2ppg. They are 1-6-1 ATS and 3-5 over/under.
