New York (6-2, 2-2 V) got a 24-20 road win over the New England Patriots, in Week 9, repeating a comeback victory similar to the 2008 Super Bowl between the teams. QB Eli Manning completed 20 of 39 passes for 250 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. RB Brandon Jacobs had 18 carries for 82 yards, while TE Jake Ballard caught their lone touchdown pass.

Brandon Jacobs knows what he is up against. He knows that he will face the NFL’s best run defense on Sunday, a San Francisco 49ers unit that allows just 70.8 yards on the ground. He knows that linebacker Patrick Willis will be lying in wait for him on nearly every play. And he knows he will likely be shouldering the Giants’ rushing load alone. Jacobs will get another chance to show that improved attitude as well as prove that he has recovered his long-lost power-running style. Bradshaw has yet to practice this week, and coach Tom Coughlin said the injured running back has spent the entire week getting treatments. It seems increasingly likely that he will not play Sunday. The last time Kenny Phillips and the Giants faced Frank Gore, the two-time Pro Bowler ran for a mere 11 yards on 11 carries in a 49ers loss. The two safeties will try to prevent the former on Sunday.

San Francisco (2-6, 1-2 H) ran their winning streak to six games with a 19-11 road win over the Washington Redskins, in Week 9. QB Alex Smith completed 17 of 24 passes for 197 yards. He hit rookie fullback Bruce Miller for his first career touchdown. David Akers kicked four field goals. The 49ers improved to 7-1 and have their longest winning streak since 1997. They are also 4-0 on the road for the first time since 1992 and hold a commanding lead in the NFC West. Get $50 in Free NFL Picks here.

Frank Gore carries the heaviest workload on the offense. He is fifth in the NFL with 782 rushing yards and has scored five touchdowns. He has rushed for more than 100 yards in a franchise-record five consecutive games. Gore is an outstanding back with great vision and patience. A two-time Pro Bowler, he is an exceptionally tough player who will continually pound the ball into the line. Gore has seven runs of 20 or more yards and three of 40 or more this season. He also has 13 receptions this season.
