NFL Picks Week 11: Cleveland Browns vs Baltimore Ravens

NFL Picks Week 11: Cleveland Browns vs Baltimore RavensThe overall NFL Picks last week went against the Cleveland Browns who face off against the Baltimore Ravens after losing a tough one to the Pittsburgh Steelers.  The Browns seem to be closing the gap between them and the Steelers but just couldn’t get over the hump and dropped to 5-4 SU, two games in back of Pittsburgh.  Cleveland led 21-6 in the first half as a 90-yard kickoff return led to one of Anderson's three touchdown passes.  QB Derek Anderson completed 16 of 35 for 123 yards and no picks while RB Jamal Lewis rushed for a miniscule 35 yards on 16 carriers.  The Cleveland defense, which has been giving up an average of 88 yards per game yielded 105 yards to Pittsburgh RB, Willie Parker.  This week their defense will face another standout running back in Willis McGahee.  For only the fourth time ever the Cleveland Browns are listed as a favorite at -2 at WagerWeb.com

Once a mighty force in the NFL the Baltimore Ravens have quickly shown their age and have become the “also rans” of the league.  Last week was another low point that saw them lose to the Cincinnati Bengals 21-7 to leave them 4-5 SU including 0-3 their L3 overall.  QB Steve McNair struggled in a second straight start, passing for only 128 yards, losing two fumbles and throwing an interception before being replaced by Kyle Boller.  Boller’s first drive ended with an interception as he ended the day going 6 of 8 for 89 yards. RB Willis McGahee scored a meaningless touchdown late in the fourth quarter and was basically held in check by a poor Cincinnati defense rushing for 60 yards on 17 carriers.  Baltimore has been outscored 59-14 in its last two games and managed only 7 points against the 31st ranked Cincinnati defense.

So, is it safe to take the Browns as a favorite?  Consider the fact that they are 3-0 SU & ATS in that roll. The Ravens have lost four in a row SU & ATS and are 1-8 ATS this year overall. However Baltimore 13-3 ATS in their L16 home games versus a defense who gives up at least 5.65 yards per play.
