In searching out NFL Picks each week there is always some games that just don’t generate excitement and so we have in Week 11 with the St. Louis Rams and San Francisco 49ers. The Rams who surprisingly are coming off their first win of the season 37-29 over New Orleans look to send the 49ers to their eighth straight loss. The Rams are coming off best offensive game of the season as them amassed 409 yards of total offense giving them some hope for the second half of the season. Much of their offensive output can be contributed to the return of two of their key players, Kyle Bolger and Steven Jackson. QB Bulger, who missed two games last month with broken ribs, was 27-for-33 for 302 yards and threw two touchdowns while Jackson, playing in just his fifth game because of a groin injury, ran for 76 yards , a touchdown,  and threw a pass for a score. WagerWeb.com has St. Louis listed as a -3 point favorite.
After starting the season a promising 2-0 the San Francisco 49ers has taken a nose dive to the second-worst record in the NFC at 2-7 SU. Only St. Louis at 1-8 SU has been worse. The 49ers are coming off a 24-0 shut out as their offense really struggled totaling only 200 yards of offense with only 6 first downs. San Francisco’s offensive woes fall to QB Alex Smith, as he was only 12-for-28 on Monday, and has completed only 29 of 66 passes with three interceptions and no touchdowns in his last two games. The 49ers average a league-worst 128.4 passing yards. In addition to Smith’s woes, RB Frank Gore hasn’t done well either after setting a franchise record 1,695 yards last year. This year he has yet to rush for 100 yards in a single game after hitting that mark nine times last season.Â
There is no question that both these teams have been horrible combining for a 3-15 SU & 4-14 ATS record. Â Before you give up on this game consider that San Francisco is 6-0 ATS versus Seattle while the SU winner is 21-3-1 ATS record in the L25 they have met. St. Louis checks in with a 5-17 ATS revenging a same season loss to an opponent.
