In searching out NFL Picks each week there are always some games that just seem to be mismatches and so we may have in have in Week 12 with the San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals. The Arizona offense seems to be hitting their stride as they have scored over 30 points in their last two wins. The Cardinals second win in a row came on the road at the hands of the Cincinnati Bengals putting them at 5-5 SU overall winning as many games as they have in the last two seasons. QB Kurt Warner playing despite a torn ligament in his non-throwing elbow was able to connect on 16-of-28 passes for 211 yards and two touchdowns. But it was their defense that has put them back in the hunt for a playoff spot as they followed up the previous weeks performance of -18 yards rushing by Detroit to 72 yards this week by the Bengals. That should force an already anemic San Francisco to put the ball in the air. The books seem to think this is a mismatch as well as Bodog.com has Arizona as a -10.5 point favorite.
After starting the season a promising 2-0 the San Francisco 49ers has taken a nose dive and sit at 2-8 SU after last weeks pathetic performance versus the Seahawks. San Francisco continued to not produce on offense rushing for a total of 32 yards on the ground and 212 through the air. Their performance is in line with their offensive ranking as they are last in the NFL in points per game (11.3) and yards per game (221). Trent Dilfer filled in for the injured Alex Smith completing 20 of 42 passes with 2 interceptions. He didn’t pass the 100 yard mark until almost mid way through the fourth quarter. Even with the poor offensive performance the 49ers still had a chance to win as their defense held the St. Louis offense to only 207 yards of total offense.
The Cardinals haven’t shown to keep winning streaks alive as they are 8-19 ATS in their L27 games coming off two or more consecutive wins and are 16-31 ATS versus teams who average less then 5.7 yards per pass attempt. For the first time in 10 years the Arizona Cardinals are double digit favorites.
