Going into Week 12 when comparing preseason NFL Picks one would have had the Baltimore Ravens at the top of the ratings going into this weeks matchup against the San Diego Chargers. Unfortunately for the Ravens the season hasn’t turned out as touted or expected as they have lost 4 in a row enroute to a 4-6 SU mark overall. Their most recent loss was to Cleveland Browns in overtime 33-30. For a change it was the Baltimore defense that failed giving up 263 yards in the air and 117 on the ground. After outscoring Cleveland 16-3 in the second half they allowed the Browns to take the kickoff in overtime and drive 43 yards in nine plays before Dawson kicked a 33-yard field goal. Their offense that has failed to show up most of the season, averaging only 16.8 points per game came to life as Kyle Boller who replaced an injured and ineffective Steve McNair went 22 or 41 for 279 yards. Odds makers must think that Baltimore has nothing left in their take as WagerWeb.com has Baltimore listed as a +9 underdog.
After winning three in a row the San Diego Chargers lost their second game in their last three contest 24-17 to Jacksonville. Still at 5-5 SU the Chargers sit atop the AFC West division. The Chargers seemed to kill their own drives with questionable play calling but still managed to get close as Philip Rivers completed 22 of 40 passes for 309 yards and a touchdown but did have two interceptions. The Jaguars were able to keep Charger star RB Ladainian Tomlinson who wend into the game needing 91 yards to becoming the 22nd player in NFL history with 10,000 yards but finished with only 62 yards.
The Ravens has drained the bankroll on the road this season going 1-4 SU & 0-5 ATS so far while scoring just 12.6 points per game. San Diego comes in a profitable 29-15 ATS against teams scoring less then 17 points per game and are 4-1 SU & ATS at home this season while holding their opponents to 15.6 PPG.
