San Diego Chargers vs Chicago Bears Spread 2011 NFL Predictions Week 11: Two teams heading in opposite directions will meet today at Soldier Field as the (4-5) San Diego Chargers [+3½] pay a visit to the NFL Point Spreads favorite (6-3) Chicago Bears [-3½]. The Chargers come in losers of four straight, while the Bears have will look for their fifth consecutive victory.
This NFL Predictions Week 11 game is scheduled to get underway on Sunday afternoon at 4:15 PM ET live on CBS Sports. According to NFL Point Spreads experts, the projected OVER/UNDER line for these teams is set at a combined total of 45 points scored.
For the Chargers, their woes continued last Thursday Night, when the Oakland Raiders came away with a victory at Qualcomm Stadium, 24-17. San Diego got off to a slow start, falling behind 3-17 at halftime. But the Raiders couldn’t hang on, as Philip Rivers and the Bolts came storming back to make it a contest with a 14-7 third quarter.
But that would be all for Rivers, as neither the Chargers nor the Raiders were able to put up points in the fourth quarter. San Diego is not on the brink of equaling its longest losing streak in franchise history. The Chargers started the 2003 season 0-5 before turning it around.
"We're in a rough stretch right now,” Rivers said after the game. “We get a few days off to take a deep breath.”
For the Bears, this team is playing its best football right now. Chicago is coming off its most impressive win of the season, dismantling the Detroit Lions, 37-13. The Bears defense was unstoppable, picking off Lions quarterback, Matthew Stafford four times. Charles Tillman and Major Wright were responsible for two of the four interceptions of the day, which they returned to the house for pick-6s.
"We're getting better," said Bears linebacker, Brian Urlacher. "No doubt about that. We're not done yet. We've still got a long way to go. But we're going the right direction, that's for sure."
It’s hard to pick against the Bears in this one, considering how well they’re playing and how much the Chargers have struggled recently. That said, you never know how a team with as much talent as the Bolts have is going to react in desperate situations. I would take the Bears in this one, but don’t be surprised if this game ends up being a shocker…
