Jets Breakdown: The wayward Jets downward slide continued last weekend as they lost for the fifth time in their last six 
games. The Jacksonville Jaguars were the latest nemesis, beating New York 24-22 at the Meadowlands. Quarterback Mark Sanchez had another lackluster outing, completing 16-of-30 passes for 212 yards and two interceptions. The Jets defense played decently but they still allowed the Jags to convert a costly 7-of-13 third downs.
New York, after starting the season 3-0, now stands at 4-5 and in third place in the AFC East. If they lose to New England today, the Jets can pretty much forget about winning the division. This fact has not been lost on Head Coach Rex Ryan.
"Trust me, I'm going to work to the best of my ability to find answers," Ryan said. "Whatever it is, I believe we'll find them. I know our task is hard, but it's not impossible."
Patriots Breakdown: New England also had a difficult week, coming off a 34-35 loss to the Colts on Sunday night. The setback snapped a three game win streak and dropped the Pats record to 6-3, making their AFC East somewhat vulnerable. Their situation would become far more precarious with a loss to the Jets today, a team that beat them 16-9 back in week two. New England's offense failed to top the 300 yard mark in that games as the Jets hit quarterback Tom Brady seven times.
"We're going to see how well we prepare and how much better we understand what we're doing," Brady said. "It's a good scheme, and it's been proven for a lot of years that it's a good scheme. The players of the Jets have really seemed to adapt to it."
