NFL Week 12 Predictions: The AFC North and the NFC East continue to be the two most competitive divisions in football. In fact, those are the only two division in the entire league in which you’ll find teams tied for first place. In the AFC North, two old rivals will likely battle each other for the top spot until the end of the regular season: the (7-3) Baltimore Ravens and the (7-3) Pittsburgh Steelers.
This week, Mike Tomlin’s crew will have a great opportunity to gain an advantage and move forward in the standings. Despite being the road team, the Steelers [-10½] will be huge NFL Point Spreads favorites when they travel to Arrowhead Stadium to take on the Kansas City Chiefs [+10½]. After winning four straight, the Chiefs have now lost three in a row and have no starting quarterback for an extended amount of time.
Last Monday against the Patriots, KC was able to muster all but three points against one of the worst defenses in the league. Imagine what will happen when they go up against one of the highest ranked defenses in the NFL? It probably won’t be pretty for Todd Haley and his new quarterback Tyler Palko.
So, this should be a great opportunity for Pittsburgh to take sole possession of first place, as the Bengals are very likely to move up a spot for a second-place tie with the Ravens, should they lose at home. Cincinnati [-7½] will be at home this week as they welcome the last place, (4-6) Cleveland Browns [+7½].
The (7-3) Baltimore Ravens [-3], on the other hand, will certainly have the toughest opponent this week. Coach John Harbaugh will host his younger brother Jim the red-hot (9-1) San Francisco 49ers [+3] this week at M&T Bank Stadium. After losing in week 2 to Dallas, the Niners have yet to lose another game, as their streak is now at 8 in a row. I don’t think anyone could have predicted this start, not even Jim Harbaugh himself!
