In the three games prior to Phillips' dismissal the Cowboys gave up a combined 121 points to the Giants, Jaguars, and Packers. They limited to New York and Detroit to 39 points while posting 68 of their own.
Quarterback Jon Kitna, who took over for the injured Tony Romo mid-way through the Cowboys week seven loss to the Giants, was superb in both outings, throwing for 474 yards, six touchdowns, and just one interception.
Dallas has been a tough holiday out recently, going 4-0 in their last four Thanksgiving Day games. The Cowboys outscored their opposition (Bucs, Packers, Seahawks, Raiders) by an average of 33.3 to 13.3 in those four contests.
