The Panthers (4-6) lost to Miami 17-24 at home in Week 11 and sit third in the NFC South. QB Jake Delhomme made 19 of 42 passes for 227 yards with one TD and an interception; overall he’s thrown for 1,885 yards with eight TD’s and 14 interceptions for a 66 passer rating. RB DeAngelo Williams had 13 carries for 122 yards, while WR Steve Smith made seven catches for 87 yards with a TD. Since suffering a hand injury in Week 9 against the Saints, Julius Peppers has not played up to his typical Pro Bowl standards. He has been held without a sack in three consecutive games, after tallying seven in his first seven games, and has only two tackles since hurting his hand. He is the Panthers' most talented defensive player, and they will need him at his best to make a late-season run. The Panthers defense is ranked 11th overall with a fifth ranked pass defense, but struggle with a 26th ranked rush defense. Their third ranked running game will be all over the Jets struggling 16th ranked rush defense. The key to the Panthers' success over the past few years has been limiting QB Jake Delhomme's pass attempts . Since 2004, Carolina is 30-4 when Delhomme throws fewer than 30 passes and only 7-27 when he breaks that threshold. Run the ball! RB DeAngelo Williams has five touchdowns in his last five games against AFC opponents and WR Steve Smith has 351 yards receiving in his last three games vs. AFC opponent. The Panthers have averaged 21.7ppg and allowed 24.3ppg in their last three games. They are 2-3 SU on the road where they average 21.8ppg and allow 24.2ppg. They are 4-6 ATS and 5-5 over/under.

The Jets (4-6) lost at New England 14-31 in Week 11 and now sit third in the AFC East. QB Mark Sanchez made eight of 21 passes for 136 yards with one TD and four interceptions; overall he’s thrown for 1,791 yards with 10 TD’s and 16 interceptions for a 61.3 passer rating. RB Thomas Jones had 21 carries for 103 yards, while WR Jericho Cotchery made three catches for 84 yards with a TD. This was one of the worst outings for the Jets offensively and defensively. They didn’t even get into the red zone. After a sensational start, QB Sanchez has struggled mightily over his past six games as the Jets have gone 1-5 over that stretch . He has only six TD passes with 14 interceptions during that span and has looked overwhelmed at times. Against the Panthers fifth ranked pass defense isn’t going to help his confidence. Their best bet at moving the chains will be to use their second ranked running game against the Panthers 26th ranked rush defense. RB Thomas Jones leads with 884 yards rushing with eight TD’s. New York has won two in a row against NFC opponents at home. The Jets have averaged 20.3ppg and allowed 28.3ppg in their last three games. They are 2-3 SU at home where they average 20ppg and allow 19.2ppg. They are 4-6 ATS and 5-4 over/under.

Recent Trends to Consider:
