Week 12 of the NFL Picks pits the Seattle Seahawks visiting the “City of Brotherly Love” in a matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Seahawks have won three in a row to take control once again of the NFC West with a 7-4 SU mark. Last weeks’ win however wasn’t without it’s suspense as Seattle had to rely on a fumble by the St. Louis Rams at their 1 yard line to win 24-19. Seahawk QB Matt Hassselbeck had another good game as he was 21-of-38 for 249 yards, one touchdown and one interception. With the injured Shaun Alexander on the sidelines backup Maurice Morris carried 16 times for 79 yards. Even with Seattle’s three game winning streak the books at Sportsbetting.com has them listed as a +3 underdog.
The Philadelphia Eagles came within an eyelash of beating the undefeated New England Patriots 31-28 in a Sunday Night clash last week. The loss was a heart breaker as they seemingly outplayed the Patriots giving up the final score with 7:20 left in the game. With starting QB Donavan McNabb out the Eagles were given no chance to win having to go with backup A.J. Feely. All he did was go 27 of 42 for 345 yards and three touchdowns. He had three interceptions, one of which was returned for a TD by the Patriots during their first series of the game. RB Brian Westbrook was mainly held in check as he had only 52 yards on 17 rushes.
The last time that Seattle visited Philadelphia they crushed the Eagles by the tune of 42-0. However, the Eagles are on a 22-10 ATS run versus teams from the NFC West, while Seattle has struggled against the NFC East, going 2-8 ATS in its L10.
Philadelphia comes in tied for last with the Giants in the NFC East at 5-6 and this game begins a difficult 5-game season ending stretch against teams who have at least the same won-lost mark.
