The Tampa Bay Buccaneers enter Week 13 with a two game lead in their division over the New Orleans Saints where they were an NFL Pick earlier in the year. A win this week would just about seal up the division title for the Bucs who have done a complete turn around from last years 4-12 team. Last week against the Redskins starting QB was forced to leave the game in the first quarter with a back injury. Garcia came back late in the game to try and spark the offense but it did no good as the Buc were outgained by the Redskins 316 yard to 15 in the second half. It was the 4 fumbles they recovered in the span of 16 Redskins plays that led to scores which kept them in the game. Apparently their performance hasn’t been good enough as BetUS.com has Tampa Bay listed as a +3 point dog.
After a horrible start the New Orleans Saints came to life and kept the playoff hopes alive with a 31-6 beating of the Carolina Panthers leaving them at 5-6 SU overall. Drew Brees had two interceptions in the first half but came back big as he lead the Saints on three straight touchdown drives to start the third quarter. He ended up throwing for 260 yards and three TDs while running for another score. Reggie Bush was held to nine carries for 32 yards and caught three passes for 30 yards.
The visitor has owned this series as they are 12-4 ATS including 5-1 ATS when Tampa visits the Superdome. New Orleans has struggled at home this season as they are only 2-3 SU & 1-4 ATS and 2-9 ATS in the season and a half under Sean Payton as hosts. Tampa Bay has owned their division as they are a perfect 3-0 SU & ATS versus divisional opponents this year.
Before you jump on the Buccaneer bandwagon consider that the Saints allow 245 passing yards per game and that head coach John Gruden is 0-9 ATS during second half games against teams allowing 235 or more passing yards per game with Tampa.
