Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been exceptional during the Packers win streak, throwing for nine touchdowns and just two interceptions in route to a 104.3 passer rating. The Cal product put together his two best performances of the season in weeks nine and 10, though, where he threw for 590 yards, completed 75.2 percent of his passes, and tossed seven touchdown strikes in dispatching Dallas and Minnesota by a combined score of 76-10.
Rodgers may find continued success this afternoon against the Falcons. Atlanta ranks seventh in the league in points per game allowed (19.2), but its pass defense gives up an average of 244.1 yards per game through the air, a total which ranks 24th in the NFL.
Atlanta enters today's game with an 8-2 record and a half game led over New Orleans in the NFC South standings. The Falcons, which host the Saints in week 16, need another home win to keep the defending champs at bay. That has not been a problem this season, or really since Matt Ryan took over under center, as the club is 18-3 at the Georgia Dome with the third year signal caller running the offense.
Ryan has led his team to a 5-0 mark at home this year, where the Falcons have turned Arizona, San Francisco, Cincinnati, Tampa Bay, and Baltimore by an average of 10.8 points per game.
