Minnesota Vikings vs Washington Redskins 2010 NFL Picks, Predictions & Odds

by Matt Foust on Sunday, November 28th, 2010

Minnesota Vikings vs Washington Redskins 2010 NFL Picks, 2010 NFL Predictions & 2010 NFL Odds: Minnesota will test its luck with a new head coach this afternoon as Leslie Frazier takes over the Vikings ship in place of the dismissed Brad Childress. The Washington Redskins have plans to keep the wayward Vikings headed in the wrong direction, though, as they attempt to build on last week's win at Tennessee. Today's game is scheduled to kickoff at 1:00pm ET at FedEX Field in Landover, Maryland; it will be broadcast live on FOX. 2010 NFL Picks, Predictions & Odds at Sportsbook.com have Minnesota listed as a -1 against the spread road favorite and the game total set at 44.

Former Vikings coach Brad Childress found himself in a number of bad headlines over the past several weeks as he beratedMinnesota Vikings vs Washington Redskins 2010 NFL Picks, Predictions & Odds Brett Favre's performance in a post game presser, argued with a receiver over the severity of an injury, cut Randy Moss without consulting ownership before hand, and became the subject of several anonymous player quotes that were less than glowing in nature. To go along with all that, his team, which many expected to contend for a Super Bowl Championship, put together a 3-7 record through 10 weeks of play.

The man deserved to be fired and after last week's 31-3 home loss to the Packers, he was. As far as the team's playoff hopes are concerned, the move came too late; however, the Vikings, at 3-7, still have a chance to make this season a respectable one if they can finish strong under interim Head Coach Leslie Frazier.

Frazier's first move was to publically declare his support for the beleaguered Favre. Favre responded by pubically declaring his support for a simplified playbook. If the latter declaration helps the future Hall of Famer perform any better, Frazier will, no doubt, oblige him, and probably as early as today in the nation's capital.

Washington continued its back and forth tug-of-war with respectability last week, garnering a 19-16 overtime victory in Tennessee to improve to 5-5 on the season. The Redskins also snapped a two game skid in the process and showed some mental toughness in rebounding from a hideous 59-28 home loss the Eagles the week before.

Given Washington, as well as Donovan McNabb's Jekyll and Hyde nature, it is difficult to presume just what kind of game the team will play today. The Redskins are 2-3 at home, though, where they are giving up nearly 28 points per game to the opposition.

NFL Picks Betting Trend: The Redskins are 0-10 straight up and 1-8-1 against the spread in their last 10 games as a home dog with a total between 41.5 and 44.
