Pittsburgh, which improved to 7-3 with the win over Oakland, limited the Silver and Black, a team that had produced 115 points and 1374 yards in its three previous outings, to 182 total yards and 3-of-14 on third down.
The offense also turned in a masterful performance as Ben Roethlisberger threw for 375 yards and three touchdowns. The Steelers finished the game with 431 total yards, of which 162 came on the ground.
Now Mike Tomlin's squad must deal with another team that has stumbled into some winning ways in Buffalo. Granted the Bills have been a scrappy bunch all season long, but their die hard style of play earned them exactly zero wins through the first nine weeks of action.
The tide has turned for the recently moribound franchise the past two Sundays, though, with Buffalo beating the Lions and Bengals by a combined score of 63-43. The Bills, which are only laying for pride a this juncture, displayed some considerable heart in Cincinnati last weekend. Chan Gailey's troops trailed the Bengals 31-14 at the half, but scored 35 unanswered points after the break to down the toothless tigers.
Pittsburgh is obviously the more talented team in this one, but Ryan Fitzpatrick and company have proven that they do indeed have to beat. This Bills team will not lay down for anyone, whic, despite recent history, makes the six point spread in this one somewhat scary.
