Tennessee Titans vs Houston Texans 2010 NFL Odds, Picks & Predictions

Tennessee Titans vs Houston Texans 2010 NFL Odds, 2010 NFL Picks & 2010 NFL Predictions: Division rivals Tennessee and Houston will attempt to keep their respective hats in the AFC playoff chase today; however, since the two squads will square off against each other in the Lone Star State, only one will be successful in that cause this afternoon. Today's rivalry tilt is scheduled to kickoff at 1:00pm ET at Reliant Stadium; it will be broadcast live on CBS. 2010 NFL Odds, Picks & Predictions at online sportsbook Bodog.com have the Texans listed as a -6.5 against the spread home favorite and the Over/Under set at 45.5.

Tennessee looked well on its way to securing a postseason spot just a few weeks ago, sitting atop the AFC South standingsTennessee Titans vs Houston Texans 2010 NFL Odds, Picks & Predictions with a 5-2 record. Much has changed since then, though, namely the team's ability to win games. The Titans have dropped three straight coming into today's game to fall to 5-5 and third place in the division standings behind Indianapolis and Jacksonville.

Tennessee is also dealing with the drama surrounding injured quarterback Vince Young, who had a heated locker room exchange with Head Coach Jeff Fisher following last weekend's 19-16 overtime loss to the Redskins. However, the concerns over Young will presumably find a spot on the backburner now that the immature signal caller has been placed on season ending IR with the same thumb injury that precipitated his confrontation with Fisher.

Fisher usually turns to veteran Kerry Collins when Young is unavailable, for whatever reason, but the Penn State product is still a no-go due to a calf injury he suffered in the Titans week 10 loss at Miami. That means the coach will be forced to use rookie Rusty Smith again today. Smith had an inauspicious debut last weekend filling in for Young, completing just 3-of-9 passes for 62 yards and an interception (19 passer rating).

Houston, like its division cohort, is suffering from an unability to win games. The Texans jumped out to a 4-2 record in the first six weeks of action, but they now find themselves in the AFC South cellar with a 4-6 tally.

Houston's losing streak hit four games last Sunday with a heartbreaking 30-27 road loss to the New York Jets. The Texans, per usual, were competitive, but their pourous seconday found a way to spoil an otherwise winning effort.

If Gary Kubiak's squad cannot find a way to win today against a rookie quarterback making his first ever road appearance, than they may be lucky to win another game the rest of the season.

NFL Picks Betting Trend: Over the past three seasons teams playing as a home favorite coming off of back-to-back road losses are 20-6 straight up and 11-15 against the spread.
