The Redskins (5-6) (3-2 V) lost to Minnesota 13-17, at home, in Week 12 and still sit third in the NFC East. QB Donovan McNabb made 21 of 35 passes for 211 yards with one TD and one interception. RB James Davis had six carries for 11 yards, while WR Anthony Armstrong made two catches for 53 yards. Fred Davis made three catches for 25 yards with a TD. Their defense had two sacks and no interceptions. The Redskins have had inconsistencies all year long on both sides of the football but the one thing they have done is hit and hit hard on defense. Washington has trouble wrapping up, but when the Redskins do get contact, it pays off. They’ve sent some of the best opposing players to the locker room. Andre Johnson, Stephen Jackson, Michael Vick, LeSean McCoy, Clay Matthews, Jermichael Finley, Donald Lee, Joseph Addai, Vince Young and Adrian Peterson to name a few. Watching Lorenzo Alexander, London Fletcher, Brian Orakpo and Laron Landry layout people all year has been a privilege. With the current seasons playoff hopes in doubt we can at least be assured there will be some big hits on Sunday and maybe even a game changing injury in favor of the Redskins. The Redskins could have some success with pressuring Eli Manning into causing turnovers. Clinton Portis went on season-ending injured reserve during the week, and his first replacement, Ryan Torain, was inactive with a hamstring injury, leaving running duties to Keiland Williams and James Davis. Only the Arizona Cardinals attempt to run the ball less than the Redskins. The Redskins offense is ranked 21st overall (332ypg) with a 10th ranked pass game (242ypg) and a 26th ranked ground game (90ypg). Keiland Williams leads their offense with five TD’s. The Redskins go up against the Giants second ranked defense (286ypg), the NFL’s best ranked pass rush (186ypg) and their 10th ranked rush defense (100ypg). The Giants give up the 17th least amount of points per-game (21.8ppg).
The Giants (7-4) (4-2 H) beat Jacksonville 24-20, at home, in Week 12 and sit tied atop the NFC East, with the Eagles. QB Eli Manning completed 14 of 24 passes for 226 yards with two TD’s. RB Brandon Jacobs had 14 carries for 87 yards, while RB Ahmand Bradshaw had nine for 49 yards. TE Kevin Boss made three catches for 74 yards with a TD, while WR Mario Manningham made three for 61 yards with a TD. Their defense had four sacks and one interception. New York’s passing game is great despite all injuries at the wide receiver position, and they’ll be facing the 4th worst pass defense in the league, likely victimizing it. LT Shawn Andrews missed last week’s game and has been listed as doubtful for Sunday's game after having surgery for back issues. With their offensive line depleted by injuries — starting and backup centers Shaun O'Hara and Adam Koets are out as well — the Giants are left with second-year pro Will Beatty at left tackle. Beatty, though, only just returned to playing in spot duty two games ago as an extra tight end after missing seven with a broken right foot. Statistically i just do not see how this Redskins team can come out of the Meadowlands with a win, and seven points looks like a bargain for the Giants. This one might get very ugly. The Giants offense is ranked third best overall (387ypg) with a ninth ranked pass game (249ypg) and a sixth ranked running game (138ypg). They score the sixth most amount of points per-game (25.2ppg). Hakeem Nicks leads their offense with nine TD’s. The Giants battle the Redskins worst ranked defense (400ypg), the NFL’s third worst ranked pass rush (269ypg) and their 26th ranked rush defense (131ypg). The Redskins defense allows the 21st most amount of points per-game (23.8ppg). CB DeAngelo Hall leads the Skins defense with six interceptions.
