The Raiders (5-6) (1-4 V) lost to Miami 17-33, at home, in Week 12 and now sit third in the AFC West, one game behind San Diego. QB Bruce Gradkowski made 17 of 32 passes for 252 yards with one TD and two interceptions. RB Jacoby Ford had one carry for 13 yards and he was top receiver with four catches for 108 yards with a TD. RB Darren McFadden ran for two yards and made seven catches for 63 yards. Their defense had three sacks and one interception. An MRI performed on Raiders quarterback Bruce Gradkowski on Monday revealed a third-degree separation of his right (throwing) shoulder. For now, Cable said, the Raiders are moving forward as if Jason Campbell is going to start on Sunday. Jason Campbell has a 106.3 passer rating in two career games against the Chargers. Cable ruled out the possibility of giving No. 3 quarterback Kyle Boller a shot. Nnamdi Asomugha (ankle) and TE Zach Miller suffered a severe deep bruise on his right leg and both are questionable, Brandon Myers is the only other tight end on Oakland's 53-man roster. The Raiders offense is ranked 17th overall (335ypg) with an 27th ranked pass game (196ypg) and the NFL’s fifth best ranked running game (139ypg). They score the 15th most amount of points per-game (23.2ppg). RB Darren McFadden leads their offense with six TD’s. The Raiders battle the Chargers first ranked defense (273ypg), their second ranked pass rush (192ypg) and the NFL’s third best ranked rush defense (81ypg). The Chargers give up the 11th least amount of points per-game (20.5ppg).

The Chargers (6-5) (4-1 H) won in Indianapolis 36-14, in Week 12, and have risen to second in the AFC West, one game back from Kansas City. QB Phillip Rivers made 19 of 23 passes for 185 yards with no TD’s and no interceptions. RB Michael Tolbert had 26 carries for 103 yards with a TD, while WR Antonio Gates made four catches for 46 yards. Their defense pulled down four interceptions, two which were returned for TD’s, and got one sack. The Chargers' special teams units weren't a glaring weakness and actually managed to be a significant strength with kicker Nate Kaeding posting an impressive five field goals including a 50-yarder. Phillip Rivers threw the ball with impressive accuracy (83% completion percentage), protected the ball, made plays when he needed to and let the running game and defense do the rest. The Chargers will need Rivers to win some games down the stretch. WR Vincent Jackson is expected to miss Sunday's game with a strained calf. Jackson started Sunday night but limped off the field after two plays, raising eyebrows due to his clash earlier this year with the front office. The Chargers have won 18 consecutive home games in December, a league record and they lead the NFL in sacks with 33. The Chargers offense is ranked best overall (407ypg) with the second best ranked pass game (294ypg) and a 15th ranked running game (113ypg). They score the third most amount of points per-game (28.2ppg). Antonio Gates leads their offense with nine TD’s. The Chargers go up against the Raiders 13th ranked defense (335ypg), the NFL’s fifth best ranked pass rush (201ypg), and their 28th ranked rush defense (133ypg). The Raiders give up the 19th most amount of points per-game (23.3ppg).
